Frequently Asked Questions

What People Ask Us Most

Answers for residents, families, and referral partners.

What is sober living and how is it different from rehab?
Sober living is structured housing, not a clinical treatment program. Residents live together in a substance-free home with house rules, weekly meetings, and peer accountability while managing their own daily lives. Rehab provides clinical treatment. Sober living provides a stable environment to continue recovery after treatment ends.
How much does it cost?
Pricing varies by location and room type. At our Trudy Lane location, shared beds are $1,400 per month ($1,100 room and board plus $300 program fee), with a $1,100 security deposit at move-in. Full rooms are available at a higher rate — call to inquire. All rates include all utilities. Call or text 725-726-8582 for current pricing across all locations.
How do I pay? Do you accept insurance?
We are private pay. We do not bill insurance because sober living is classified as housing, not clinical treatment. Most residents pay directly using personal income, family support, disability benefits, or savings. We do not accept Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial insurance for housing costs. Insurance may separately cover outpatient therapy or IOP you attend while living with us.
What medications are allowed?
All legally prescribed medications are accepted with no restrictions. This includes all FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder (buprenorphine/Suboxone, methadone, naltrexone/Vivitrol), medications for alcohol use disorder, psychiatric medications, and any other prescription your doctor has ordered. We are fully MAT-friendly.
Do I need to have completed treatment to move in?
We strongly prefer residents who have completed a residential or outpatient treatment program. If you have not completed a formal program, please call us and we will talk through whether our homes are the right fit for your situation.
How quickly can someone move in?
We respond the same day. If a bed is available and intake is complete, placement can happen within 24 to 48 hours. We move quickly for time-sensitive situations such as treatment discharges, court requirements, or housing crises.
Is there a curfew or drug testing?
Yes to both. Drug testing is required at intake and conducted on a random basis throughout residency. House rules include a curfew and expectations around behavior, guests, and participation in weekly house meetings. Full house rules are provided at intake.
Can I stay as long as I need to?
Yes. There is no maximum length of stay. We believe stability is a cornerstone of recovery and we do not put artificial time limits on residency as long as a resident is in good standing with house rules and current on payments.
Are the homes co-ed?
Yes, our homes are co-ed with gender-separated rooms and shared common areas. This is clearly communicated to all residents at intake and governed by house rules.
Do you work with drug court, probation officers, or attorneys?
Yes. We work regularly with drug court coordinators, probation officers, and criminal defense attorneys who need to document stable housing for their clients. We respond same-day and can provide written placement confirmation for legal purposes. Contact us at 725-726-8582 or info@soberlivingvegas.com.
Where are your homes located?
Our first location is at 7439 Trudy Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89123. We also operate additional homes throughout the Las Vegas valley. Addresses for other properties are provided during intake. Call us for current availability across all locations.
What happens if a resident relapses?
The safety and integrity of the house community always comes first. Residents who test positive may be asked to leave or to enter detox before returning. We handle these situations with compassion and on a case-by-case basis.
